What You’ll Learn
• The heritage of stained glass art and notable glass artists.
• Safety practices
• Tools, equipment, and nomenclature
• Glass art skills,Cutting, Fitting, Grinding, Foiling, Soldering.
• Types and characteristics of various types of glass
• Advice on designing your own projects

Workshops are conducted in a single 5-hour session and limited to FOUR participants.

This is a hands-on learning experience taught using demonstration, practice, and discussion. A large portion of your time will be spent practicing with tools in hand.

You should be able to complete 2 to 4 ornaments during the workshop.

This class is held upstairs at the Hollis-McRitchie Museum and is hosted by the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society. The address is 74 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA.

Student Requirements
No prior stained glass experience is required.

What to Bring
Bring appropriate eye protection. It’s required at all times when working with glass.

All other materials, tools and equipment use is included in the cost. Bring your own ideas and questions to discuss.

Workshop cost is $75 per participant.

Other Information

Note-taking is encouraged and recommended.

This is an opportunity to experience and learn about a unique and historically significant profession…come curious and prepared to make something amazing!

Michael has been using stained glass in his metal art for 15 years.  He’s also and artist,  teaches blacksmithing and is the Executive Director of Artisans Heritage Guild.
